For many years, the State Education Center for the Hearing Impaired in Brunswick has offered many educational opportunities and an inclusive environment for hearing impaired people. The goal of the center is to promote the participation and integration of hearing impaired people in society.

For one year I have been supporting the team of the state education center as a federal volunteer and have gained valuable experience in the process. In my voluntary service, I not only took on educational activities, but also performed administrative tasks and participated in the organization of events.

As a federal volunteer, I was able to gain an insight into how institutions for the disabled work and gain valuable experience in dealing with hearing-impaired people. Introduction

We learned a lot from each other and supported each other. This exchange has helped me to broaden and deepen my knowledge and skills. Overall, I can say that my federal voluntary service at the State Education Center for the Hearing Impaired in Braunschweig was a very valuable and enriching year. I learned a lot about myself and about working with hearing impaired people. I am grateful for this experience and I recommend others to consider the possibility of doing voluntary service.

For one year I was able to be part of the team at the State Education Center for the Hearing Impaired in Braunschweig and complete my federal voluntary service in a very special institution. During my assignment I had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in working with deaf and hearing impaired people.

My main task was to support the teachers in class and to assist the students when needed. Here I was able to improve my skills in the field of sign language and also my communication skills were further developed. The work in the team was always very harmonious and I felt integrated quickly.

A highlight of my federal volunteer service was accompanying students on various outdoor activities, such as tent camps and field trips. Here I could not only prove my pedagogical skills, but also live out my joy in working with children and young people.
